What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is any activity that stimulates the senses and provides enjoyment, gratification or relief from boredom. It is a form of recreation, and it is an important part of people’s lives. It can include anything from watching TV to listening to music to playing sports. It is something that helps us escape from our daily life and enjoy time with friends or family.

The word entertainment comes from the Latin intertenere, or “to hold inside.” The prefix inter means in, and the suffix tenere means to stretch or hold. The term has evolved and is adapted to any scale, from a private entertainment selected from a now enormous array of pre-recorded products; to banquets adapted for two; to performances intended for thousands.
